Unlimited number of sites

Domains are the main management objects in C-Gator. Different web-projects can be implemented within the frames of domains. Particularly, a domain can contain one or several sites.

A set of users having an access to a domain is specified for every domain. Users are distributed into groups with their particular roles and rights to work with certain domain resources. You can get details about the C-Gator ‘s rights and roles system here.

Every domain has its own database that does not meet databases of other domains. Database is generated when creating the domain and it is deleted when deleting the domain. Such architecture gives an opportunity to transfer sites. You can work with a site in off-line mode in the C-Gator version installed on your intranet server. Then you can easily transfer it to the system installed on your provider's server using domain export/import function.

In case if domain contains several sites, every site can be exported separately. As a rule, every site within the domain is assigned by its own library where the site resources are stored – pages, templates, files etc. There are functions for libraries export/import in C-Gator. Export/import mode can be regulated. You can transfer a library:

• Without content. In this case all library settings (fields, multiple properties, resource types, requests) are saved, but the structure of resources is lost. It is convenient in case if you would like to use the library with particular settings for a new site creation.
• With resources but without multiple properties. Multiple properties are, for example, news or separate items of a products catalog. In this case the structures of news lines and catalogs are saved but without filling in.
• With resources and multiple properties. In this case the library is transferred with its content.

С-Gator allows to support several names of every site. For example, www.mysite.com and mysite.com are the different names of one site. It’s convenient for users who can find the same site searched via different names.
